Onsite/Offsite/Mobile conversion

IMC does Onsite Conversion in two models – as a traditional service bureau or as an Application Service Provider (ASP). In the service bureau model, we physically transport analogue or electronic documents and data to one of its data centers where it's converted into digital form. This may take the form, say, of moving truckloads of paper documents or copying documents at high speeds from customers' LANs onto CDs then moving them to a data center. After digitization, we present the customer with the electronic archive on portable media like CDs or tapes. In the ASP model, we may transmit the documents to a data center for conversion via a broadband network, copy them from the customer's LAN onto CDs and move them to IMC, physically transport them, etc. After digitization, we manage the digital archive onsite while the customer accesses it via a broadband network using our web-enabled WSSRD archive and retrieval software. We can also provide backup archives on portable media for storage at the customer's site.

For Offsite Conversion, either the customer's or IMC's staff prepare and scan documents using their own or IMC's scanners on the customer's premises. We then transmit them via a broadband link or copy them from the customer LAN to CD and physically transport them to an IMC data center for OCR, indexing, quality control, etc. Customers may opt to perform certain other tasks like indexing on their premises and outsource the remaining conversion tasks to IMC. In any case, they can then access their converted archives from an IMC data center via a broadband network or store the archive on their own premises and retain a backup archive at their premises. In some cases, IMC can install and staff an ongoing installed conversion operation right on the customer's site.

Mobile Conversion leverages IMC's proprietary Global Response Information Processing & Handling Node (GRIPHN) technology. GRIPHN is a soup-to-nuts conversion lab mounted on a standard Army cargo vehicle as well as outsourced IMC conversion staff that we can deploy to a customer's premise if, say, the customer must retain custody of its documents (a common requirement if they are classified). With GRIPHN, IMC staff can execute the entire conversion workflow without leaving the customer's site and supply an archive on portable media the customer can access using its own or IMC's software.

We can also rapidly deploy GRIPHN technology and staff anywhere in the world by truck or plane. Organizations who must gather intelligence to secure the homeland, combat enemies abroad or carry out law enforcement commonly choose this option. For instance, in a combat zone troops may secure enemy documents and secure them safely behind the lines. Once GRIPHN is onsite, IMC staff can prep and scan documents and transmit them to an IMC data center via a phone-to-fiber optic link according to Top Secret/SCI standards and DCID 6/9 criteria. There, IMC performs the rest of the conversion workflow and, if required, can apply its advanced semantic analysis tools like language translation and link analysis then distribute the results to appropriate military experts so they can better react to enemy activities.

If documents can't be transported out of a combat zone, a backpack, man-portable version of GRIPHN can be transported in. With an inconspicuous footprint, this version presents no obvious target for enemy fire.
